John 4:49

λέγει πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλικός· κύριε, κατάβηθι πρὶν ἀποθανεῖν τὸ παιδίον μου.

Rough Word-by-word:
He says to him the royal official, "Lord, come down before to die the child of me."

Smooth Translation:
The royal official said to him, "Lord, come down before my child dies."

Notes:
Ought this not be the plea for all of us parents?

Royalty must plead with the one who is truly royal, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
I am reminded of the Psalmists exhortation in the second Psalm, "Be wise, O kings. Be instructed, O rulers of the earth..."
