John 3:34

ὃν γὰρ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ θεός, τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ θεοῦ λαλεῖ· οὐ γὰρ ἐκ μέτρου δίδωσιν τὸ πνεῦμα.

Rough Word-by-word:
whom for he sent the God, the words the of God he speaks. not for from a measure he gives the spirit.

Smooth Translation:
For whom God sent, he speaks the words of God. For he gives the spirit not from a measure.

Notes:
By my church there is a little store we go to that sells ice cream cones and they pack the cones with as much ice cream as the cone will hold. Sometimes it's spilling over. They don't use a measure to fill the cones. They just scoop it in until it won't hold any more. I think John is saying here that the way God gives the spirit is without measuring it out.
