John 1:21

καὶ ἠρώτησαν αὐτόν· τί οὖν; Ἡλείας εἶ; λέγει· οὐκ εἰμί. ὁ προφήτης εἶ σύ; καὶ ἀπεκρίθη· οὔ.

καὶ conjunction "and"

ἠρώτησαν verb aorist active indicative 3rd plural from ἐρωτάω (I ask) "they asked"
